generated surfact pattern question

Post generated surfact pattern question
Thanks for your great tutorials!

How can I separate or divorce the generated Surface Pattern from its Heightfield map?
It appears that one could then make a mesh out of the pattern or further extrude the generated shapes.

At that time I had not yet discovered the "Bake" btm. in grasshopper :(
